Johanne Colas is passionate about helping children and families find safety, connection, and healing during difficult moments. She works with children and adolescents ages 6 and up who have lived through trauma, family conflict, adoption transitions, or child‑protection involvement, offering a gentle, creative, and developmentally appropriate space for them to express themselves. Johanne often incorporates art‑based and play‑informed approaches, allowing children to explore their feelings in ways that feel natural and safe.

Johanne is a bilingual (English/French) Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from the Université du Québec en Outaouais and a Master of Social Work from the University of Ottawa. She is also deeply interested in culturally responsive interventions and is committed to providing care that honours each child’s identity, background, and lived experience.

Her professional experience includes meaningful work with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer (OCL), the Children’s Aid Society (CAS), and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). These experiences have strengthened her understanding of the complex systems that support children and families, and they inform her trauma‑informed, child‑centred approach.

Johanne also supports parents navigating high‑conflict separation or divorce, helping them understand their child’s needs and strengthen their parenting relationship. She brings warmth, clarity, and compassion to her work, drawing on her experience in clinical practice and government settings to support families with care and confidence. Johanne believes deeply in the resilience of children and the power of supportive relationships to create meaningful change.
